Welcome to Wanderlust Kennels, home of the finest shelties on the simdog network. I'm currently a semi-private breeder striving to improve the shetland sheepdog breed. I'm working to only produce the best AKC standard sable, black tri, black bi and blue merle shetland sheepdogs on simdog. Here at Wanderlust, we are dedicated to training our dogs to absolute perfection for the show ring. Our dogs were bred to excel in activities, such as conformation and herding, and not only that but they make an excellent companion. We strive for an excellent build in the elbows & hips, a good temperament and high genetic scores. I assure you, if you were to purchase one of our puppies, you will only be getting the best quality dog there is.

When will you be open to the public?: I don't have a set date, but sometime in August or early September. Please let me know if you are interested in breeding shelties, and I may sell you a puppy before I open to the public to get the breed more noticed on the game. Only serious breeders please! I don't want to sell a puppy to you, and you end up quiting the breed after a week.

How often do you have puppies for sale?: Not very often, Shelties have small litters, only a few pups in a litter. I am also a private kennel currently, so you won't see any puppies for sale that are listed unless you contact me about it.

How much do your show/breeding puppies cost?: If you are interested in a good quality sheltie puppy before I open to the public, the prices will be around $500 to $1500 dollars depending on the quality. When I open to the public my lines will have improved, and prices will be around $700 to $2500 depending on the quality. I only sell puppies to breeders who show their dogs!

What colors do you carry?: The Shetland Sheepdog comes in many different colors such as fawn sable, black tricolor, black bicolor, blue bicolor and blue merle.

August 12th, 2013: Wow, Its been awhile since I updated my page. Anyway, I haven't been showing my dogs much latley, and I'm hoping to get back into doing that. Most of my champions & grand champions are now retired and located on my firehead terriers account. Unfortunately, two of my girls passed away ealier this month (GCh. Wanderlust Ulitmate Gift 'Nala' & Ch. Wanderlust Fashionably Late 'Blair'). In other news, I have over seven litters due soon. I most likley won't be selling any pups though. I'm going to stay a private kennel for little bit longer, so I can get my traits in order. But, if you contact me personally about puppies, I'll see what I can do for you. I'm also hoping to get a website up soon, so I have more room on my page. (:

July 4th, 2013: Happy 4th of July! Anyway lots of news today! First off both my upgrades came, so I'm super excited to expand my kennels. Also my pups raised yesterday, and two of my retained pups raised over 80G. The 83G black bicolor male pup was produced by Valentine and Zues, and the 82G blue spotted female was produced by Kristie and Rush. The other 6 pups raise pretty nice as well. Anyway, I have left three show/breeding pups witch has all been reserved, and four pet quality puppies that are still available. These pups will be fixed before going to new homes, or will be fixed before going to the shelter. In showing news, today I got two judges favorite owner! I've never got two in the same day, so thats so cool. Also, Kiara has now been registered with the CKC, and Keith just got his 20th show champion today, so that is a huge accomplishment.

June 30th, 2013: Four of my litters dropped today, and I still have two litters due the 2nd! Keith and Blair had a litter of five, and this has to be my largest sheltie litter to date. I seriously didn't even think it was possible to produce more than four pups in a purebred sheltland sheepdog litter, but I guess Blair produces larger litters, so I'm pretty thrilled about that. I can't wait to see how many pups will be born in her second litter, its pretty interesting actually. Anyways moving on, the pups in that litter turned out really nice, and I have already retained two of the fawn sable males born. The other three pups are still undecided. The puppies born from the other litters, turned out pretty well to, and I even retained a couple pretty early, although this could change when they raise. In other news, the CKC is active again, and I registered Keith, Nala & Blair since they only accept purebreds.

June 28th, 2013: I've been really busy this month, so I know I haven't had much time to update my layout, but hopfully I won't be as busy in July. Anyways I'm going to give my dogs the weekend to rest (their energy is low), and I'll start showing again on Monday. Overall, my dogs have been doing really well in the ring, and I have over 9 champions & 2 are grand champions, so thats pretty awesome. I think I've achieved alot this month with the breed, so lets just hope next month will be even better. In other news, I have around four or five litters due soon, so its puppy time again! YAY!! My last litter was born on the 21st, and Keith & Nala produced just one fawn bicolor female with 53G (Wanderlust Small But Mighty "Kiara")(she has already raised). I'm going to be keeping her because I just love her coloring, and I'm hoping to use her in my sable line. I'm also hoping to upgrade two of my accounts somtime in July.

June 20th, 2013: Well, I just realized I haven't updated my page in awhile! Wow ok, so my puppies I bred a couple weeks ago, have turned out great, and one pup even raised to 85G! I'm very proud to annouce that four of our dogs have earned their Ch. titles, and one has even earned their GCh. title. Unfortunately, none of the clubs are active, and I haven't been able to register any of them. Anyway I also have a litter on the way, from Wanderlust Ch. Ultimate Gift (9 show champions) amd Wanderlust GCh. Master Of Disguise (10 show champions). I'm super excited, to see how the pups turn out, because both parents have done so well in the show ring.

June 9th, 2013: I just entered a couple of my puppies who just turned six months, in their first shows yesterday! I very excited to announce that Wanderlust Bust A Move "Bambam", took home show champion, and best of breed today. Also, both Keith & Nala earned their second show champion today! How exciting! In other news, a couple of my litters today, and on the 8th of June. I produced two beautiful black bicolor boys (Wanderlust Friday Night Lights "Timmy" & Wanderlust Lighting Strikes "Zeus"), one black ticked female (Wanderlust Her Diamonds "Sparkle"), and one black tricolor female (Wanderlust Mystical Moment "Mysty").

June 7th, 2013: I finally found two decent shetland sheepdogs in the shelter. One is a golden sable with sixty-six genetics and one fualt, I named her Wanderlust Ultimate Gift "Nala". The other dog is fawn bicolored male, with sity-three genetics, and I named him Wanderlust Master Of Disguise "Keith". I also would like to welcome our newest additions, our fawn sable girl Wanderlust Fashionably Late "Blair", and our blue spotted girl Wanderlust Something To Talk About "Gabby". I also have more testing litters due soon, so lets hope there will be a black tricolor or bicolor puppy.

June 5th, 2013: Yay, a couple of my litters droped today! I'm really pleased with most of the outcome of the puppies. I have a couple that I'm still deciding on (plus more litters on the way), but I did pick four puppies, I decided on keeping. I picked two male blue merle/ticked puppies, one female blue ticked pup, and one female sable merle pup (dark tan merle). Wanderlust Bad Moon Rising "Humphrey" was the only blue merle puppy born, the other two were blue ticked. Anyway, I decided on those four because of color, movement & temperment. None of them have (know to bite), (aggessive to judge or handler), etc., so they will have have pretty great showing careers.

June 4th, 2013: I just finished creating this fantasic layout! I absolutly love it, probably some of my best work to date. I also just opened up my graphic services to the public, so place an order now, while I'm open.

June 2nd, 2013: Just went throught the shelter, and picked up some foundation stock. Sadly, none of the dogs really meet the breed standard, so they are located on a testing account, where I have bred a few litters for stock with better genes. I'm expecting some sables, blue/grey merles, and black tricolor/bicolor puppies. Once the pups drop, I will immediatley transfer the chosen pups to my main kennel. [All other pups will be fixed]

June 1st, 2013: I'm officially back, and i'll be breeding the beautiful shetland sheepdog again from scratch. I'll be looking in the shelter later for some foundation stock to begin with.

Breeding/Puppy Policies: Here at Wanderlust Kennels, I take each breeding very seriously. My goal here is to improve the breed as much as possible. Before each breeding, I check to make sure the male counters any of the female's flaws, and vis versa. I make sure that each breeding prediction fits the breed standards. Once a breeding is confirmed you can expect the litter within three to four days. At this time, I won't be open for reservations, which means you have to wait until the litter is born, to buy a puppy. 1st pick (also known as POL) stays here, unless I say otherwise. The puppies will stay at our nursery until they are a 1 year old. After the puppies have raised to their final genetic score, & have been entered in a couple shows, I will determine if the puppy is of show/breeding quality. At this time, I will retain the pups i'd like to keep for myself, and the remaining puppies will be available for a limited time only. Any puppy not sold within 10-14 days will be altered, so act fast.

Sale Policies: Before selling a puppy/dog I require that you keep my tag "Wanderlust" or "WK" in the dogs name until he/she passes. Anybody seen removing my tag from a dog they purchased directly from us, will not be able to purchase another Wanderlust Shetland Sheepdog ever again. I ensure you, all dogs that are not bred by Wanderlust Kennels, will keep their original tags. If you buy a dog from us which we did not breed, feel free to remove our tag, but if we bred the dog, it is required to keep our tag in the name. Secondly, you must never allow that dog to go to the shelter. We work way too hard to produce quality dogs for them to end up at the shelter. If we find that a dog that we have sold you has ended up in the shelter without any reasonable excuse, you will not be able to purchase another dog from us again. Also, please do not bargain with prices. We price our dogs at a reasonable price for what we think is fair, so please don't ask me to lower them. Another thing, If you do decided to purchase a "SHOW QUALITY" puppy, I require you enter the dog in shows at least 2-3 times a week. I hate seeing a perfectly good show dog without any titles. I personally like to show my dogs everyday if I can, so you should be able to get in a couple shows a week. Finally, Once you have contacted me about purchasing a pup, I will personally check out your kennel, and let you know if your going to be a proud new owner of Wanderlust Shetland Sheepdog puppy. If you have any further questions feel free to message me at anytime.

Buy-back Policy: If you decide that you no longer want/or are unable to care for your Wanderlust Shetland Sheepdog, we require that you either find the dog a good home (make sure to contact me, when you have found a buyer), or sell the dog back to us. Unless the dog is still young (under 3 years), we will not refund your entire purchase. We will not pay more than $500 for a dog we sold to you that, you no longer want if the dog is over 4 years old (but under 7 years). So, unless you found a new owner to care for the dog, you will only be refunded for what we think is fair. If the dog is no longer breedable, (over 8 years for females, over 9 years for males) we will pay no more than $250, so again unless you found a new owner to care for the dog, you will only be refunded for what we think is fair. When purchasing a Wanderlust Shetland Sheepdog puppy, you must agree to this buy-back policy. Although, we usually don't have any problems with this, because most of our buyers provide a loving forever home. But, then again in some cases -- you might quit the breed, quiting the game, no longer want the dog, can't care for the dog, need more room in your kennels, etc...

I currently have a few litters on the way, but all are private. I may have some puppies available once the litters have dropped, but until then I can't promise anything.

The majority of dogs that we have sold are either young adults or puppies. Shetland Sheepdog litters are known to be on the smaller size, so you'll only find a few who are up for purchase at one time. Each puppy will be raised to their highest potential genetic scores, before we place them in a new home. If you buy a Shetland Sheepdog from us, we ask that you first read our Polices before you request to purchase a pup.

Breeding Quality: A breeding quality pup is a puppy that meets its breed standards. Keep in mind that a breeding quality puppy does not always mean it will do great in show, it just means is has the correct breed standard traits. (Meaning it has the perfect color & pattern, temperament, or eye color for breeding)

Show Quality: A show quality pup is a puppy that does well in shows and can be easily finished, and earn its Ch. title. Although, show quality pups are not always going to be breeding quality. (Sometimes a dog will have a high genetic score, but its maybe coloring is off.)

Pet Quality: A pet quality puppy is a dog that does not meet its breed standards. A puppy that is neither show or breeding quality. In this case the color or pattern could be off, off eye color, the dog could be to big or to small but it all depends on the breed. If you are interested in purchasing one of my puppies for your lines that meet the breed standards then I would recommend buying a show quality or breeding quality puppy. Pet quality puppies are strictly for pets only, and will be fixed before going to their new homes.

Here at Wanderlust we breed for only the best quality, and our puppies are priced based on what we think is fair. All show & breeding quality puppies are priced somewhere between $800-$2500 depending on the traits the puppy has. For example, if I had a fawn sable pup & a fawn piebald pup for sale, the sable pup would be priced higher, because of its correct pattern. This goes for all the traits.

On the rare occasion that we have a full grown Shetland Sheepdog for sale, please keep in mind that we still hold the same rules & policies as we do with our puppy sales.
