Basic Boarder
U P D A T E S
[7.2.15]: Week two of breeding, and it wasn't as great as we hoped, but we still got to keep a few puppies. This week I'm going to breed Riverside Girl and Tequilla Sunrise together to see what I get from them. As for GSP breeders, I don't know what I'm going to do yet.
[6.23.15]: Our first week of actual breeding didn't end well. All of our puppies had missing genes or ended up the exact opposite of what we needed! This is the definition of trial and error, and this makes us want to try even harder to correct our breeds.
[6.16.15]: After about a 2-3 year hiatus, I'm going to attempt to come back. All of my past lines are long gone so I'm going to start over with Labs again.

Labrador Retriever
The Labrador Retriever is a strongly built, medium-sized, short-coupled, dog possessing a sound, athletic, well-balanced conformation that enables it to function as a retrieving gun dog; the substance and soundness to hunt waterfowl or upland game for long hours under difficult conditions; the character and quality to win in the show ring; and the temperament to be a family companion. Physical features and mental characteristics should denote a dog bred to perform as an efficient Retriever of game with a stable temperament suitable for a variety of pursuits beyond the hunting environment.

The Labrador Retriever was AKC accepted in 1917 and it is ranked 1st in the AKC Most Popular Dog Breed.
German Shorthaired Pointer
The German Shorthaired Pointer is a versatile hunter, an all-purpose gun dog capable of high performance in field and water. The judgment of Shorthairs in the show ring reflects this basic characteristic. The overall picture which is created in the observer's eye is that of an aristocratic, well balanced, symmetrical animal with conformation indicating power, endurance and agility and a look of intelligence and animation. The dog is neither unduly small nor conspicuously large. It gives the impression of medium size, but is like the proper hunter, "with a short back, but standing over plenty of ground." Symmetry and field quality are most essential.
Ears: Medium "broad and set fairly high, lie flat and never hang away from the head" Eyes: Medium "medium size, full of intelligence and expression, good-humored and yet radiating energy, neither protruding nor sunken" Teeth: Good "strong and healthy" Nose: Medium "sufficiently long to enable the dog to seize game properly and be able to carry it for a long time" Movement: Excellent "smooth lithe gait is essential" Color: Liver, White "any area of black, red, orange, lemon or tan, or a dog solid white will be disqualified" Pattern: Ticked, No Pattern " a combination of liver and white such as liver and white ticked, liver patched and white ticked, or liver roan" Length: Short " short and thick and feels tough to the hand" Tail: Short "high and firm, and must be docked, leaving approximately 40 percent of its length" Height: Medium "dogs, measured at the withers, 23 to 25 inches. Height of bitches, measured at the withers, 21 to 23 inches" Weight: Normal "weight of dogs 55 to 70 pounds. Weight of bitches 45 to 60 pounds" Behavior: Non-Aggressive " friendly, intelligent, and willing to please"
The German Shorthaired Pointer was AKC accepted in 1930 and is ranked 12th in the AKC Most Popular Dog Breed.
L I T T E R S
Our litters are carefully chosen to strengthen our lines genetics. Although we do try our best to stray from cross breeding, we will do it once in a while but only when we know that the pups whelped from the litter will severly help our line. That being said, we do not stud out our males and we do not reverse stud (rent out the bitch to whelp puppies from your stud) either. Our line is strictly closed and we will most likely alter all dogs that leave this kennel.
